A look back at the 2018/19 season
Our local competitive season came to end on Wednesday when the finals of the Campus Cup and Campus Trophy competitions took place. Both competitions are handicapped, knockout competitions with teams of six playing doubles. Our own Glenearn C fought hard in the final of the Campus Trophy but lost out to Bankfoot by 11 sets to 7.
In the league this season, Glenearn A once again finished 2nd in Division 1 and did manage to draw a match against league champions, Perth 20. Our other three teams competed in Division 2, where Glenearn B missed out on the promotion place finishing 2nd, Glenearn C was right behind the "B"s in 3rd place and Glenearn D finished 5th.
Well done to everyone who has played in our league and cup teams this season!
Our friendly club nights remain popular and our Monday sessions in particular have been well attended throughout the season. Our junior sessions also continue to do well, and we had 17 junior players at our session last Monday.
Although the competitive season is finished, our Monday adult sessions continue throughout the summer. All are welcome to come along, including new members, to any Monday session from 7:45pm to 9:45pm at the Academy of Sport & Wellbeing, Perth College UHI.
