WHAT'S IT LIKE AT GLENEARN BADMINTON CLUB?
Badminton at Glenearn is a great way to stay fit, have fun and make new friends.
Glenearn Badminton Club is a fun, friendly badminton club. We welcome new members of all abilities. So don't be shy, give it a try!
We run a number of sessions, including for children aged 9 and above, for adult beginners / returners and for adults who have played before. At our adult sessions, we have players who are still in their teens and some who are in their seventies.
Our sessions take place at Perth College and Bell's Sports Centre, both of which are in Perth. You can go along as often or as little as you wish. The sessions take place in large sports halls and we generally use between two and six badminton courts depending on the sessions. We mostly play doubles and the sessions are relatively informal, giving the opportunity for you to play with and against a range of different players.
ADULT BEGINNERS & RETURNERS
If you are new to badminton or have played before but do not yet feel confident to attend one of our main adult sessions, try our adult beginners and returners sessions.
These sessions involve a small number of adults (typically three to six) mostly playing doubles. A more experienced player from the club will be on hand to offer advice and tips. The sessions take place on Mondays from 6:45pm to 7:45pm at Perth College.
You don't even need a racket as we have plenty to borrow! We also supply the shuttlecocks.
MAIN ADULT SESSIONS
If you've played badminton a bit before, try one of our main adult sessions.
The sessions take place on Mondays from 7:45pm to 9:45pm at Perth College and Thursdays from 8pm to 10pm at Bell's Sports Centre. The cost is £5 per session (£2 for students on Thursdays). If you attend more than four sessions in a season, there is also a £5 annual fee.
We supply the shuttlecocks. We have plenty of rackets to borrow on Mondays and you can usually borrow a racket from Bell's reception on Thursdays.
You can find further info on our club nights page.
Fancy something a little more competitive? We have teams competing in Perth & District league and cup competitions. Our Glenearn A team is one of the strongest teams in the district and plays in league division 1. But don't worry for those of us not quite at the level, we have three division 2 teams as well! Players are selected match by match from those who have indicated an interest in playing.

Still unsure? Come along to one of our sessions. We're a friendly bunch and we will make you welcome.
